Anchorage Florals Pinot Gris 2021, Nelson
Bright, pale straw-yellow with depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full, leading pear, baked apple aromas with a hint of stonefruit and white florals. Medium-full bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of pear and baked apple melded with lilies and a touch of five-spice. The mouthfeel is rounded with balanced sugar sweetness; a spicy acid line draws a moreish closing. Match with lemongrass & chilli pork and spicy fish taco over the next 2 years. Fermented in stainless steel to 12.5% alc. 16.5/20 pts (83 pts) Oct 2021

Anchorage ‘Florals’ Pinot Gris 2021 < 4 stars >
Well spined and exhilarating, a fresh clean statement to suit finger food or as an aperitif before a summer lunch. A touch of sweetness if searching for it; Balanced, a fine all-purpose silver medal wine; into 2023 with more to say after a few more months..

This Sauvignon Blanc was machine harvested in the cool mornings of late March, then destemmed and gently pressed to tank for settling. The juice was then racked off solids and the bright juice cool fermented with aromatic yeast strains. The wine was then blend-ed and bottled for you to enjoy!
Lively and racy, lots of flavours settling down at six months although the freshness gives the wine immediate appeal. Great aperitif or with a fish course. Perhaps a matter of taste some will prefer the freshness, other, will prefer this stage to pass. A fine glass of Nelson Sauvignon either way.
