Anchorage Family Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2021, Nelson
Bright, pale yellow, lighter on edge. The nose is vibrant and elegantly presented; aromas of gooseberries, lime, white cassis interweave a light note of spice and subtle grassy interest. Medium-bodied, nuances of lime, gooseberries and white cassis have a concentrated core; palate broadens by saline, entwined with tomato vine, and delicate white pepper lingers. The wine flows with good energy along a fine chalky-textured phenolic line, unfolding citrus peels on the closing. This is a fine Sauvignon Blanc with good flavour concentration, delicate chalky texture and savoury interest. Match with cured fish and fried halloumi over the next 2-3 years. Fermented to 12% alc, 4g/l RS. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Oct 2021
Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Our 2021 Sauvignon Blanc was harvested in the cool mornings of early April in pristine condition from our ‘Flett Road’ vineyard. Gentle pressing and cool stainless steel fermentation has en-couraged and preserved fantastic aromas of passionfruit, red currants and green apple, along with a snappy, mouth watering palate.
A tropical fruit explosion greets you in the glass with aromas of passionfruit and red currants. Zesty, herbal, lime citrus and green apple combine on the palate for a fresh, mouth watering little number, perfect on it’s own or as an apparitif.
