Anchorage Estate "Barrel Fermented" Chardonnay 2025
Anchorage Estate "Barrel Fermented" Chardonnay 2025
Wine Making
Harvested in the cool mornings of late March. The Chardonnay grapes were brought into the winery in pristine condition and gentle pressed. The juice was then fermented warm in French oak puncheons, 20% new oak and aged for ten months on yeast lees to develop texture, richness and ripe fruit flavors having gone through full malolactic fermentation before being prepared and bottled.
Tasting Note
Elegant and refined, showing aromas of citrus peel, white peach and ripe pear accented by struck flint, and light French oak spice. The palate is taut yet silky, with concentrated stonefruit and lemon curd notes framed by savoury barrel nuances and mineral freshness. Focused and persistent, it closes with a stylish, textural finish..
